Whether you run, swim, go to the gym, do crossfit, or if you’re a club RUNNER and take it serious, an all weathers GOLFER, or a 25K weekend CYCLIST who is currently frustrated by an injury that just wont seem to heal on its own, then you ARE looking in the right place for help and this is likely to be the most IMPORTANT message you will read since being injured.
And despite how long you may have been frustrated by your lack of progress, please know that what you’ve got is UNLIKELY to be anything more serious than what has gone before me in all of my years of working with competitive athletes. Whatever is the root cause of your concern, it’s VERY likely that I have a solution to HELP you and it’s one that WILL see you active and exercising again, within days from now.
The GP’s don’t agree with us… but Sports Injuries should be taken seriously. After all, being injured STOPS you from taking part in something that is very IMPORTANT to you, not to mention adds huge VALUE and satisfaction to your life and helps keep you healthy whilst you do it. Although all that is something that appears to be lost on most GP’s and NHS Physios these days.
Running in some form, is a very huge part of most sporting activities. Whether you’ve pulled a calf muscle running, have a damaged hamstring, a painful golfers Achilles, a twisted knee, a sprained ankle or are suffering from runners knee or shin splints, I have seen and recovered quickly your injury MANY times in my career already.
It’s no surprise to me that so many frustrated runners, golfers and cyclists are knocking on my door and asking for help. And it’s simply because of the FACT that most muscle and sports injuries can NEVER heal properly, if left alone.
Despite what some people think, REST is NEVER the answer to solve any sports or muscle injury. In more than 17 years, I haven’t witnessed ANY injury, in any sport, that is helped by pro-longed rest.
Sure, with rest, the pain will drop. But pain free at rest - that’s not the goal. And what about the scar tissue that builds every day that you are RESTING and is clogging up the muscle or ligament, making it tight, stiff, inflexible and ready to tear again at any time? That GETS WORSE BY THE DAY and is the number one reason why most runners, golfers and cyclists breakdown within weeks of starting up again.
But I know just what to do to stop that… It involves lots of skilled and very Deep Massage, introducing exercises and exercising (there’s a BIG difference!!!) at just the right time and even looking at your LOWER BACK to check that problems aren’t coming from there – because so often, “they do”! And it maybe that I need to look at your feet to check for a muscle imbalance, or advise specific exercises that will make you stronger and more flexible and mean for less chance of being injured again, any time soon.
And when I do all of that for you, I can GUARNATEE that you will see an improvement and it will happen fast. EVERYTHING that I suggest is geared towards you being active again, as fast as is safely possible. Even from this far, I know that I could suggest something to you that will let you get active and exercising safely, right this minute.
